Sean Bryan competed on seasons 8 and 9 of American Ninja Warrior. Season 9 was his breakout season, where he won the Los Angeles city finals and was one of the last three standing at Mount Midoriyama, making it half way through Stage 3. His season 9 performance earned him a spot on Team USA for the USA vs the World competition. Sean studied physics at UC Berkeley, were he competed in Gymnastics at the NCAA level, helping his team place fifth at the NCAA Championships.
After college, he lived and worked with the Salesians of Don Bosco, and considered becoming a Catholic priest. He discerned another route; he earned an MA in Theology at the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology, and has been directing a ministry that helps Catholics integrate the faith into their daily lives, and to be leaven in society. His faith life has been spotlighted on the show, and his enthusiasm for the Church is why he sports the Vatican colors of yellow and white, and is also why they call him the “Papal Ninja.”
